Usage Limit Best Practices
How to monitor your credit usage and avoid interruptions before they happen.
Overview
Your tier includes a set amount of credit per billing cycle, shown in the Console App as a percentage used rather than a raw number. This page covers how to keep an eye on that percentage so usage never catches your business off guard.
Check your usage regularly
Visit the Usage page in the Console App periodically, especially if you're running a promotion or expect higher-than-usual customer traffic. Usage is broken down by where credit is being spent: Automations, Connectors, Vai, and Opspilot, so you can see what's actually driving consumption.
Understand what counts against your credit
Every run of an Agent, Automation, or a Dada/Vai/Opspilot conversation draws from your credit. Cost per message varies by conversation, roughly ৳0.70–৳1 per customer message on average, since it depends on how long the conversation and the automation's response are. Every automation is different, so usage isn't always linear with the number of customer messages you're handling.
Plan around your billing cycle
Credit resets automatically at the start of every billing cycle. If you notice usage trending high partway through a cycle:
- Compare it to the same point in previous cycles to see if it's a real trend or a one-off spike.
- Consider whether an upcoming campaign or promotion will push usage higher than normal, and check in on the Usage page more often during that window.
If you're approaching your limit
- Running out mid-cycle doesn't cut you off immediately. You keep working through a grace allowance, and any grace usage is settled on your next invoice. See what happens when you run out of credit.
- Upgrading doesn't switch you over instantly either, you keep running on your current tier's remaining credit through the grace period while the change settles on your next invoice. See Pricing for details.
- If your business regularly needs more headroom than your tier provides, reach out through Support rather than repeatedly relying on grace usage.
Avoid last-minute surprises
- Don't wait until you've fully run out of credit to check the Usage page for the first time in a cycle, check early so an upgrade or adjustment has time to take effect before it matters.
- If you're testing new Automations or automation templates, watch usage closely for the first few runs so you catch any unexpectedly expensive workflow before it scales up.
